Travel update
travel edit part two
For some of us, winter means plenty of time on the road (and in the air) between WEF and our home states, schools, jobs, and families. After enough of these back-and-forth trips, you start to pick up a few travel tricks – a few things that make the constant commuting feel a little easier. These are the newest ones in the rotation.
To wear:
A lightweight puffer like this one - traveling with a massive jacket twice a week is a true pain. I like having an easy jacket, for sure there are more indulgent options like Herno and Moncler, but this Save the Duck puffer really does the trick.
A winning cotton long sleeve - because the plane is always 3 degrees…
This travel wrap - it’s an investment, but a highly worthwhile one - it’s super cozy when it’s freezing commuting from NYC, feels like a blanket. It’s big enough you can use it as a pillow if you have a window seat. I have black and navy - they’re something you’ll use forever.
Compression socks - not super sexy but these keep your feet warm and help reduce swelling during long or frequent commutes.
The drowsy mask - for an early morning flight, my Bose headphones fit comfortably over this mask, it is super comfy on a plane. I like it so much I just gifted it to my team!
To bring:
This laptop case - makes it really easy to work with your computer on your lap, especially when you’re in a tight squeeze middle seat situation.
Stojo cups/water bottle - these are the best, they are collapsible so they won’t act as some awkward obstacle to your bag fitting easily under the seat. You’ll also be very happy to have this in your ring bag, and they actually fit in your car cup holder.
Boiron pellets - our go-to whenever we feel like we’re getting sick. Especially when commuting between opposite climates.
These “restore & repair” face masks - to revive that post-flight skin!
4am skin wipes - these are a favorite tiktok purchase, way better than any drugstore face wipe and perfect if you’re feeling lazy before bed or in a rush in the morning.
This jetlag supplement - this all-natural supplement has been so helpful when traveling to Europe with a big day ahead upon landing!
What we’ve read recently:
Strangers by Belle Burden - a memoir of marriage, very reflective and well written, I really enjoyed!
Culpability by Bruce Holsinger - a family drama with discussions on AI ethics, a timely read and a good listen!
Every week we’re waiting for:
Giggly Squad - a crowd favorite pod, will always put you in a good mood, Hannah and Paige are so fun
Being Well - love the dialogue between Dr. Rick Hanson and his son Forrest who hosts - always really insightful episodes
